Bayreuth Festival 2024
As every summer, Bayreuth will be again the center of the cultural highlight of the year 2024 – the Bayreuth Festival. The 112th season of the festival opens with a new production of Richard Wagner’s “Tannhäuser and the Sängerkrieg auf Wartburg” on July 25th, 2024. The musical director is Valery Gergiev. Also on the board are “Lohengrin”, “The Mastersingers of Nuremberg”, “Tristan und Isolde” and “Parsifal”. The title role of Tannhäuser is embodied by Stephan Gould, who sang for the first time in 2004 in Bayreuth. Anna Netrebko and Krassimira Stoyanova will debut as Elsa in Lohengrin.

Bayreuth Festival House
The Richard Wagner Festival Theatre, also known as the Bayreuth Festival Theatre, is a festival theatre on the Green Hill in Bayreuth. It was built in the years 1872-75 by Otto Brückwald after designs by Richard Wagner in the style of Hellenistic Romanticism.
